The young KWPN-approved stallion
Numero Uno has a promising future ahead of him. His
progeny reports state "beautiful, high-legged foals with
plenty of presence, a free-flowing trot, great
suppleness and making an excellent impression. The
canter has fluid mobility and also makes a good
impression." His offspring continue to fetch the highest
bids at auction such as in Borculo, NED, in September
2002 when a Numero Uno foal out of a Voltaire dam was
sold for 17,500.00 Euros. At Weert, NED, one of his
offspring was the second most expensive foal sold.
Numero Uno represents the best
bloodlines Holstein has to offer. He is the son of the
Holsteiner stallion Libero H (by Landgraf I) who won the
1994 World Cup Final under Jos Lansink. This famous
Holstein lineage, registered under the number 429,
produced the stallions Aldato (Anblick xx), Heidelberg
(Ladykiller xx) and Benedictus (Benvenuto xx). Approved
as a KWPN sire in 1989, Libero H is becoming one of the
most successful sires of his era. His offspring
competing internationally include the well-known U.S.
competitor Liberty, Laura Kraut's grand prix superstar
and partner at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Carnegie Iowa,
winner of the 2000 Sires of the World Championship, as
well as Libra K, Ikoon, Iris and Coonawarra.
Numero Uno's dam Jolanda is
superbly bred, touting the pedigree Lord Calando x Ahorn
Z, the same lineage as Jerry Smit's Olympic and World
Cup partner Lux Z. She produced a full sister to Numero
Uno who was one of the most talented show jumping horses
of her age group. The grand dam Feinschnit (Ahorn Z)
produced the national show jumping horse Kapitol, who
competed in the five-year-old division at the World
Championship for Young Jumping Horses at Lanaken.
Further back in Jolanda's pedigree we also find
Fernsicht (Ladykiller xx), a full sister to show jumping
producer Lorenz.
During his stallion performance
testing in Ermelo, Numero Uno received 9 for his canter
and averaged 8.5 in jumping with scores of 9 for
impression, 8 for technique, 8.5 for ability and 8.5 for
jumping aptitude. Numero Uno was equally rewarded with
scores of 8.5 for impression and jumping aptitude at the
1999/2000 stallion competition in Holland.
